THE GENERAL

POST OFFICE

You want to send some postcards to your family? The General Post Office is the ideal place to do this. But it is not only for postcards it’s an important memorial place, too.

The General Post Office – short GPO – is a very imposing building in the centre of Dublin.

It is a historical monument of the freedom fighters who fought against the British in 1916. This was a big step for the Irish for being independent. Because of this special importance the Irish flag waves in front of this building.

However, if you are not interested in history you, of course, could only buy postcards or stances in the General Post Office, too.
