THE PHOENIX PARK

The Phoenix Park is the favourite recreation area of the Dublin townsfolk. The area is 7 square kilometres, i.e. twice as big as the New York Central Park.

Its name is not conveyed from the mystic bird but from the Irish description for clear water.

We made our last stop of the Hop on Hop off tour in this park and enjoyed the afternoon while taking photos, playing cards or bathing in the sun. The area is well-tended for example I couldn’t see there any waste.

The Dublin Zoo is a part of Phoenix park you can visit with your whole family. If you want to have another animalistic experience you can look for the herd of deer which lives there freely.

There are many other sights in Phoenix Park, too, for example the “Farmleigh House” and the “Wellington Monument”.

If you want to have the possibility to reach some places of interest and relax at the same time Phoenix Park is the perfect decision.
